Hello! :hello2: and welcome to the Malware Removal forums.
I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. HijackThis logs can take a while to research so please be patient while I work on your log and I will post back here with any recommendations.
As I am still training, everything that I post to you, must be checked by an Admin or Moderator. Thus, there may be a tiny bit of a delay between posts. While it shouldn't be too long, you can be assured you will get the best possible advice.

  • I will working be on your Malware issues, this may or may not, solve other issues you have with your machine.
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this machine.
  • Please continue to review my answers until I tell you your machine appears to be clear. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.
  • It's often worth reading through these instructions and printing them for ease of reference.
  • If you don't know or understand something, please don't hesitate to say or ask!! It's better to be sure and safe than sorry.

I am getting "mail undeliverable" messages
What I believe you are referring to is called backscatter, basically what this means is a spammer is sending out spam emails using a spoofed email address (which could be yours) to try bypass spam filters. In many cases there is no valid email for the intended recipients of these emails so they will often get bounced back to where it is believed they originated; the spoofed email address. It's unlikely that any spam emails have originated from your account, I even get them sometimes from some of my domains.
You can read more about it here:
http://www.spamresource.com/2007/02/bac ... op-it.html

If you followed the instructions IndiGenus gave you to stay safe when you received help here recently, its unlikely you are infected but I can take a look to make sure.

Is this the same computer as the last time?
viewtopic.php?f=12&t=29604
Your HijackThis log is showing that you don't have critical Microsoft patches, if this is a different computer from your previous time being helped here proceed with the following;

Update Your Windows XP.
You are currently using an unpatched version of Windows XP.
Before attempting to remove malware, it is CRITICAL that you update to Service Pack 1a.
Get SP1a here : http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/updates/sp1/default.mspx
You should also get SP2, but NOT NOW, rather only after your machine is clean.
After updating your Windows to SP1a.

Alexa Toolbar
The issue is the 'Related Links' feature of Internet Explorer which appears as the 'Tools'/'Show Related Links' menu item (and a corresponding toolbar button if you added it from the 'Customize...' link on the toolbar). If you use that feature, Internet Explorer will contact the Alexa servers, via MSN, to obtain information about other web pages which seem to be related, open an Explorer Bar, and display those (plus adverts and whatnot). Alexa/Show Related Links is just a registry key
  1. creating a menu item
  2. pointing to a local web page
  3. pointing to an MSN search page
  4. which redirects to the Alexa web site
All that is 'installed' on your PC is that HTML page [#3], which uses MSN and Alexa, but only if you use it. Check the Alexa web site to see if you think that is a good idea or just to double check that you haven't deliberately or unintentionally installed some of their software. Click here for more information
Some adware/spyware programs will tag related.htm. If you did not intentionally install Alexa software or if you choose to remove it, these are the items to fix in HijackThis:

O9 - Extra button: Related - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm (file missing)

O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Show &Related Links - {c95fe080-8f5d-11d2-a20b-00aa003c157a} - C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm (file missing)

Step 1:
Using Internet Explorer Go to http://www.kaspersky.com/kos/eng/partner/default/kavwebscan.html and click the Accept button at the end of the page.

Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the licence, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license accepted, reset to 100%.
  • Read the Requirements and limitations before you click Accept.
  • Allow the ActiveX download if necessary.
  • Once the database has downloaded, click Next.
  • Click Scan Settings and change the "Scan using the following antivirus database" from standard to extended and then click OK.
  • Click on "My Computer" and then put the kettle on!
  • When the scan has completed, click Save Report As...
  • Enter a name for the file in the Filename: text box and then click the down arrow to the right of Save as type: and select text file (*.txt)
  • Click Save - by default the file will be saved to your Desktop, but you can change this if you wish.
Copy and paste the report into your next reply.

Step 2:
Run HijackThis do a system scan and in your next reply please post:
  • The online Kaspersky scan results
  • The new HijackThis Log

Also please let me know how your computer is running.

Please read this - viewtopic.php?t=550

As your operating system didn't pass the Microsoft's Genuine test, help will not be given.

This also means that you can't update as well, leaving your computer open to attacks. This will make any cleaning futile as you will be back re-infected again.

You can either get a legitimate copy of Windows or use Linux. A list of Linux distributions can be found on Distrowatch.

Some easy-to-use Linux distributions include OpenSuse, Fedora Core, Ubuntu and Pardus.
