I have updated Adobe and added a firewll from your list of reccomendations. Here are my Logs. The computer seems to be running better. No more pop up that say your computer is infected and to click here. What causes this to happen? :? How do I makesure it doesn't happen again? I thought the sites I go to are safe. I guess I was wrong. I must say I really like the Anti-virus you suggested.

Hello KGRUMPY :) ,

I have updated Adobe and added a firewll from your list of reccomendations. Here are my Logs. The computer seems to be running better. No more pop up that say your computer is infected and to click here.

Very nice. Your reports shows that too.

What causes this to happen?

You didn't have an Anti-Virus!
You were badly infected and some of the infection was appearing again.

How do I makesure it doesn't happen again? I thought the sites I go to are safe. I guess I was wrong. I must say I really like the Anti-virus you suggested.

See some advice in my all clean speech. Yes Avira it's a good Anti-Virus.
Set it to update and scan daily.

You can keep Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and use it often to scan your pc.
It's a very good scanner.
----------------------------------------------
Time for some housekeeping
  • Click START then RUN
  • Now type Combofix /u in the runbox and click OK
  • Image
The above procedure will:
  • Delete the following:
    • ComboFix and its associated files and folders.
    • VundoFix backups, if present
    • The C:\Deckard folder, if present
    • The C:_OtMoveIt folder, if present
  • Reset the clock settings.
  • Hide file extensions, if required.
  • Hide System/Hidden files, if required.
  • Reset System Restore.
----------------------------------------------
Congratulations you are clean!

Here are some free programs I recommend that could help you improve your computer's security.
(Vista users must ensure that any programs are Vista compatible BEFORE installing)

Spybot Search and Destroy 1.5.2
Download it from here. Just choose a mirror and off you go.
Find here the tutorial on how to use Spybot properly here
Find here changes from older version 1.4 here

Install SpyWare Blaster 4.0
Download it from here
Find here the tutorial on how to use Spyware Blaster here

Install WinPatrol
Download it from here
Here you can find information about how WinPatrol works here

Install FireTrust SiteHound
You can find information and download it from here

Install MVPS Hosts File from here
The MVPS Hosts file replaces your current HOSTS file with one containing well know ad sites etc. Basically, this prevents your computer from connecting to those sites by redirecting them to 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer.
Find Tutorial here : http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/hosts.htm

Update your Antivirus programs and other security products regularly to avoid new threats that could infect your system.
You can use one of these sites to check if any updates are needed for your pc.
Secunia Software Inspector
F-secure Health Check

Visit Microsoft often to get the latest updates for your computer.

Please check out Tony Klein's article "How did I get infected in the first place?"

Read some information here how to prevent Malware.

Happy safe surfing! :)

You are welcome :) .

Yes you can empty Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware Quarantine.

What do you mean it won't open? Can't you see Comodo Shield on your task bar?
Go Start/Programs find Comodo and click on it to start.
If it continues, uninstall re-install.
Be sure you disabled Windows firewall ;) .

The shield is not there. When I tried to go to programs to open it still does nothing. So I have tried to uninstall ,but I get this message.

cfpcong.exe-Unable To Locate Component
This application has failed to start because framework.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

I have tried to reinstall, but I am still getting the same message.

Hi,

When you downloaded it for the first time did it work?

Here is how you uninstall.
Firstly download the installer.

To uninstall, disconnect from the Internet, uninstall Comodo and reboot.
Double-click the installer to install Comodo.
If framework is needed you have to download it from microsoft updates site.

If it doesn't work try another Firewall from my list.

Let me know :)

Hello KGRUMPY,

Maybe the installer was corrupted somehow.

Please completely uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs, reboot, and activate your Windows Firewall.
Go to Comodo site again and download the installer.

Try to install it again.
Do you get any other messages?

As i have some personal problems with my pc, i won't have it for a few days (Hardware problems).
I will try to send someone else to help you continue.

Is it still in your Add/Remove Programs?

You need to reboot to uninstall.

Please check again if it's still in your Add/Remove Programs.

Yes it is still there. I tried to reboot, but it won't go away. I think this is almost more upsetting than all my other problems.

Hi KGRUMPY,

Does it still gives you the option to remove it?

Hi KGRUMPY,

I had a look at Comodo Firewall Forum and it seems other people have a problem to uninstall Comodo.

Please re-install it and update it.
If still not working, uninstall it via Add/Remove Programs, reboot your computer.
You must reboot your computer in order to remove all the Comodo files.

Now reinstall it. Please read carefully and follow the instructions while installing it.

Let me know if this worked.
