nview.exe error/virus-pc reboots

Unread postby lily38 » March 1st, 2008, 8:30 am

Think I have a virus, but all attempts to fix have failed. I have tried Norton, Adaware, UniblueSpyEraser, AVG...others. Error boxes pop up w/either nview or winlogon.exe error messages and when box is closed, pc shuts down and reboots. Here is the HJThis log:

Hi lily38,
I don't think this problem is related to malware.
It's more likely that you need to troubleshoot your display adapter (video card), or uninstall and re-install the driver that comes with your video card.
Do you have a CD for the video part of your PC?
Start, Control Panel, System, Hardware tab, Device manager, Display Adapter, click on the video card model (write it down), click Troubleshoot.
You can click the Driver tab and choose Update.

Otherwise you might best post on a Forum that specializes in hardware and system problems.
like : http://discussions.virtualdr.com/forumdisplay.php?f=25

Whenever you post a HiJackThis log, first make sure the Notepad Format menu has Word Wrap Unchecked.
Post back here if you want further help with malware, if you discover that video hardware and drivers are not at fault.
