On Sunday, February 24, I ran a scan with Spyware Doctor and it was clean. I then left for a week and the computer was not used during that period. Sometime during that week, Spyware Doctor ran an automated scan and picked up Trojan.Virtumonde.
On Saturday, March 1, I cleaned up Trojan.Virtumonde and scanned again. No infections. I then performed the Kaspersky scan requested and it was clean (see attached file.)
So in short, here's where I am:
- I am running AVG Professional AV, Comodo Firewall, and Spyware Doctor with OnGuard.
- Despite the machine sitting idle for a week, it picked up a Trojan, at least according to Spyware Doctor.
- I had turned off the Remote Desktop capabilities to see if that was the problem.
I'm still at a loss as to how these continue to get on the machine. Any additional scanning tips would be appreciated.
