Hi all,
I tried to use the mailer gievn on the site karslcalculus.org and I got this message:

Detected Open Proxy
© 2005 by Karl Hahn

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Your Computer's IP address, ( My IP given here), is listed at cbl.abuseat.org
What does this mean? It means that your computer probably has a virus that has compromised its security, and that criminal hackers have exploited your computer, probably to transmit spam.

Can I still send email to Karl's Calculus Tutor? The short answer is yes. But because the email form at Karl's Calculus Tutor might be exploited by hackers using your computer, the form mail will not work from your computer until your IP is delisted. You must send your email using your own emailer. Send it to helpwmath@karlscalculus.org

How do I get my computer's IP address delisted? First clean up all viruses your computer might be harboring. Both Symantec and McAfee (as well as others) offer products that cure viruses. Once your computer is clean, go to cbl.abuseat.org and follow the instructions there for delisting your IP address, which again is ( My IP) (you will need to know your IP address in order to get it delisted)

Return to referring page

After I got this message, I did kaspersky online scanning with expanded search option on "my computer".
It scanned steadily upto some 73% and then suddenly said scan complete and said no threat detected.
I tried to save it on desktop with .txt option, but when i clicked save I got message that for your computers security, file was saved in temporary internet files folder. When I opened it the file wasnt there so I cant paste it here.Even saving with default htm extension didnt help.
Norton is giving system ok.
Please tell me what I need to do.
Thank you.

Hello and welcome to the forums

My name is Katana and I will be helping you to remove any infection(s) that you may have.

Please observe these rules while we work:
1. If you don't know, stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
2. Please reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
3. Please continue to respond until I give you the "All Clear"
(Just because you can't see a problem doesn't mean it isn't there)

If you can do those three things, everything should go smoothly :D

I apologize for the delay in responding, but as you can probably see the forums are quite busy
and sometimes a post manages to slip by us.
Unfortunately there are far more people needing help than there are helpers.

Please note that all instructions given are customised for this computer only, the tools used may cause damage if used on a computer with different infections.

If you think you have similar problems, please post a log in the HJT forum and wait for help.

Unless informed of in advance, failure to post replies within 5 days will result in this thread being closed.

Please post a fresh HJT log in your reply
( please ensure word wrap is unchecked in notepad )

Hi Katana,
thank you for your reply.
I reinstalled the operating system for some reason. So I think whatever infection it had must have been removed.
Thank you.
