Internet connection problems

Unread postby gelo20 » January 27th, 2008, 7:10 pm

For the past month or so my wireless internet connection has been very slow. I tried running spybot, adaware, and a2 several times but nothing changed. For a while I thought it was the time of day but even at 2am I have problems. Today I noticed that if I unplug and plug the modem the speed goes back to normal for few minutes, with a speed reading of 11mbbs. Suddenly, the reading just drops to 1, which a friend said is probably related to malware. As I said, I have run spyware programs but so far only tracking cookies were found. I would greatly appreciate any help.

The good news is I cannot see anything in that log to suggest you are infected.

the bad news is I cannot see anything that can cause your slowdowns.

I think you should visit a more general forum where they may be able to assist with general slowness etc.

As you have a Dell computer I would suggest the Dell community forum.

This particular forum might be the best to post to there.
