My name is Dave. I would be glad to take a look at your log and help you with solving any malware problems. HijackThis logs can sometimes take a while to research so please be patient and I'd be grateful if you would note the following:

Hello,

Your computer is infected by a variant of the Sdbot trojan, along with quite a bit of other "stuff", which has Backdoor functionality. This can give intruders complete control of your computer, logging key strokes, stealing information, etc...

You are strongly advised to do the following immediately!:
  • Disconnect infected computer from the internet and from any networked computers until the computer can be cleaned.
  • Call all of your banks, credit card companies, financial institutions and inform them that you may be a victim of identity theft and to put a watch on your accounts or change all your account numbers.
  • From a clean computer, change *all* of your online passwords -- for ISP login, email, banks, financial accounts, PayPal, eBay, online companies, and any online forums or groups you belong to.
      Do NOT change passwords or do any transactions while using the infected computer because the attacker will get the new passwords and transaction information.
Because of its backdoor functionality, your PC is very likely compromised and there is no way to be sure it can ever again be trusted. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of Trojan, the best course of action would be a reformat and reinstall of the OS. However, if you do not have the resources to reinstall your OS and would like me to attempt to clean your machine, I will be happy to do so.

To help you make a more informed decision, please read the following articles:

If you do decide to try and fix this I would advise you to continue by doing the following.

Please download SDFix and save it to your Desktop.

You should print out these instructions, or copy them to a NotePad file for reading while in Safe Mode, because you will not be able to connect to the Internet to read from this site.

Double click on SDFix.exe. It should automatically extract a folder called SDFix to your system drive (usually C:\). Please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following :
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap the F8 key continually;
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu with options should appear;
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode, then press "Enter".
  • Choose your usual account.
  • Open the SDFix folder and double click on RunThis.bat to start the script.
  • Type Y and press Enter to begin the script.
  • It will start cleaning your PC and then prompt you to press any key to Reboot.
  • Press any key to restart the PC.
  • Your system will take longer than normal to restart as the fixtool will be removing files.
  • When the desktop loads the Fixtool will complete the removal and display Finished.
  • Press any key to end the script and to load your desktop icons.
  • A text file should automatically open, so please copy the contents and post them here.

Please download ComboFix by sUBs from HERE or HERE
  • You must download it to and run it from your Desktop
  • Now STOP all your monitoring programs (Antivirus/Antispyware, Guards and Shields) as they could easily interfere with ComboFix.
  • Double click combofix.exe & follow the prompts.
  • When finished, it will produce a log. Please save that log to post in your next reply along with a fresh HJT log
  • Re-enable all the programs that were disabled during the running of ComboFix..

Note:
Do not mouse-click combofix's window while it is running. That may cause it to stall.

CF disconnects your machine from the internet. The connection is automatically restored before CF completes its run. If CF runs into difficulty and terminates prematurely, the connection can be manually restored by restarting your machine.

Well I got as far as going into safe mode and running SDfix. My computer restarted and got to the windows xp load screen, and then it just started going on and off and it wont get any further then the load screen before it restarts itself again. I really dont know what happened. Right now I'm using another computer. What happened?

Hello,

Sorry to hear of your troubles here. As I had advised in my first post you have an extremely infected machine here. Malware of this type can do serious system damage that only a re-install of Windows will fix. We can try using Last Known Good Configuration to see if that will get us back into Windows here.

Reboot your computer in Safe Mode by restarting your computer and tap the F8 key just before Windows starts to load. This will bring up the Advanced Options Menu.
Select the Last Known Good Configuration option.

Let us know how this works.

I've tried the last known good configuration, along with safe mode to no avail. It made no difference I still have the same problem it will not get past the load up screen. If I reinstall windows I will surely lose everything huh? I have about 4 years worth of things on my computer and that is really upsetting news! but i will do what i have to. thank you for your fast responses btw. what should my next step be?

Hi,

Once again I'm sorry for the issues you have run into here. Our suggestion now is to do a repair installation. If it goes well this will allow you to at least save your personal files and data. A repair install will likely not solve your malware related issue, but will allow you to at least boot to Windows and get your data, then you can decide what to do from there. The instructions to do this are at this link. Please feel free to let us know if you have any questions. Again, the goal right now is to get you back into Windows to save whatever data you can, after that we can see how it's running if you get there and determine the next best action.
