oh and the firewall thing was nothing, it was because i was downlaoding a program you asked me to download.

Hi kliao93,

When copying the OTMoveIt file list, you missed out the first character of the first filepath so we need to move that file again:

Double-click OTMoveIt to start the program
Select the contents of the below file list, then press Ctrl+C to copy it to the clipboard
In OTMoveIt, click in the left-hand pane and press Ctrl+V to paste the file-list into the program
Then, press MoveIt!
If the program asks you to reboot now, click No
Copy the Results output and paste it into a new notepad file so you can post it in your next response. Do this by clicking in the right-hand pane, press Ctrl-A then Ctrl-C to select all and copy. Then open Notepad, press Ctrl-V to paste in the text, and save this text file to your desktop.

OTMoveIt file list:
Code: Select all
C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxtray.exe

Then reboot your computer to complete the removals.

As for reinstalling the programs, it isn't a difficult process but you have to have the original programs to do it. Also, it's possible that some of the programs might work adequately in their current state or not be necessary to have installed at all. For example, Java Runtime has been affected but it's unlikely that you will have any problems as a result so I would recommend you leave it as is unless you experience problems with it.

If required, these programs should not be too difficult to restore:
Google Toolbar
MSN Messenger
Java Runtime
Quicktime/iTunes
SBC Yahoo! Online Protection
Samsung printer driver
Linksys EasyLink Advisor
You should be able to go to the relevant website, download the program again and install it.

These might be more difficult:
Intel Graphics Accelerator
Intel Hotkey Command Activator
Intel Common User Interface Module
Sound driver
HP DLA Packet Writing Software
VERITAS backup software
Nero Burning ROM

You may need the original CDs to reinstall these programs. If your machine is a branded one with only a restore CD then it may be difficult to restore some of these without reinstalling Windows.

It's up to you how you wish to deal with this, but if possible, I would recommend you test out your machine and deal only with the applications which cause you problems. None of these are crucial for Windows to work, but some may be necessary for you.

Please post the new OTMoveIt results along with a new HijackThis log and let me know if your antivirus program is giving you any more warnings.

i want to reinstall yahoo online protection. however, the file is corrupted or something. in order to reinstall the new version i was told to remove the old one. I tried to go to the program to uninstall it, but there was no uninstaller. I really need this program back.

Hi kliao93,

There's a bit of tidying up things we should do:

Please open HijackThis, choose Do a system scan only and place a checkmark next to the following lines:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

Then close all open windows apart from HijackThis, press Fix checked, OK the prompt and close HijackThis.

Cleanup with OTMoveIT:
  • Double-click OTMoveIt to start the program
  • Close all other programs apart from OTMoveIt as this step will require a reboot
  • On the OTMoveIt main screen, press the CleanUp! button
  • Say Yes to the prompt and then allow the program to reboot your computer.

Re Yahoo Online Protection:
I tried to go to the program to uninstall it, but there was no uninstaller.

Where did you look for the uninstaller - in Start->Control Panel->Add/Remove Programs?
If not, you should look there first.
Next, open Start->All Programs, look for the relevant program folder there and see if there is an uninstall link.

If there is no uninstaller available in either location, you can try using a 3rd party application to remove it.
You can try CCleaner which you can download from here:
http://www.ccleaner.com/download/downloading

Download and and install the program - be sure to UNCHECK the installation of the Yahoo Toolbar and automatic update features if you don't want them.
Then open CCleaner and click the Tools button on the left side.
Scroll down the list and see if you can find the program you wish to remove, highlight it and press Run Uninstaller

Once complete, please post a new HijackThis log and let me know if you managed to remove & reinstall Yahoo Online Protection.
