When I last reformated I installed Firefox but I had saved my old profile dan replaced it in the proper folder. Eversince FF Uses 100 CPU time and take a good 3-5 minuets to go from site to site. I have tried uninstalling delketing the folders I could find and the reinstalling it. Same thing. I am currently using opera which I love but there are sites that do not like it but will accept FF. Any suggestions or help will be appreciated or direction to a forum that can help . Keeping in mind I use Opera except for certian Microsoft sites that require IE.
If you haven't already, I would try running FF in safe mode (go to start, All Programs, Mozilla Firefox, Mozilla Firefox (safe mode)). Running FF in safe mode will disable all extensions. If FF safe mode runs ok, then the problem probably is one or more extensions. Next step is to enable extensions one at a time until you determine which one is causing the trouble.
I'm not sure if Firefox works this way though. You need to specify a profile to load, direct copy and paste those stuffs in won't work.
Try forcing Firefox to use the default profile installed, see if you are having problems.
Start > Run and copy and paste in firefox.exe -P default -no-remote and press Enter. If it says can't find Firefox, add in Firefox file path. Usually in C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox. Make sure you include quotations when using file paths with spaces otherwise Windows can't find them.
thankyou after trying mai's suggestion i loaded quicker. So I tried Carolyn's suggestion which gave me the option to reset all settings to defult permanately. I did that and now it works like a champ. Thank you both.
