option to hide one's logged- in status

the ability to select this option if one wishes in ones profile options appears to be missing and the selection at log in to log in as hidden appears to not be effective either ?

You'll need to log out and log in again for the changes to take effect.

And if log in at the main forum page, it will default to your Profile settings - hidden or not hidden depends on that.

If you click on the Log In link at the top right hand corner, you could choose to log in hidden just for the session.

Click on User Control Panel
On the left side click Board preferences
Click Edit global settings
Select yes to Hide my online status:
Changing this setting won’t become effective until your next visit to the board.

Sorry, you probably can't. I'm not sure how this board is set up but on most forums you can't hide your online status from those with moderator and administrator privileges.

Besides, why would you want to scare poor old Gary? ;-)

Or maybe we're not talking about the same Gary . . .

I have studied MY board preferences and I suspect that, with the change to this new server, the facility /choice to hide one's logged- in status on this board is now only available to those within the uni
