http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Encephalopathy

Encephalopathy literally means disease of the brain. In medical jargon it can refer to a wide variety of disorders with very different etiologies, prognoses and implications. For example, anoxic encephalopathy commonly refers to permanent brain damage with often severe impairment of consciousness and mental abilities caused by cessation of oxygen delivery to the brain.

As I understand it he died of arrhythmogenic right ventricular cardiomyopathy which I believe in lay man terms causes muscles around the heart to become too hard. It generally affects only young athletes in their prime and unfortunately is relatively common. There are tests that can be carried out to see if somebody can be affected by it also a family history of sudden or cot deaths can be an indication of it.

One of my brothers friends died from it a few years back.

Yes Antonio collapsed middle of the game between Sevilla F.C - Getafe

And heres in English if you don't understand Spanish.

Antonio Door finally passed away the 28 of August from 2007 to 14:30 of afternoon by a postanóxica encefalopatía (lack of nutrients and oxygen in the brain), caused by the cardiógeno shock in which it was. He was going to be father, since her fiancèe was pregnant then of eight months.

Feel quite ashamed to admit I am a Norwich City fan as we are bottom of the championship and can't win a game
