Hi ARFF1Tampa :)

There is no malware showing in your log, have you had any detections from your security software or has Zone Alarm blocked any unexpected network activity?

There is some tidying up to do:

Your Java is outdated and is now a security risk
Go to Start » Control Panel » Add/Remove Programs
Search all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )
(They should have this icon next to it: Image)
Remove all versions of Java.
Download and install the newest version of Java Runtime Environment (JRE) (version 6 update 2), from here:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp

Then, open HijackThis, choose Do a system scan only and place a checkmark next to the following line:
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

Then close all open windows apart from HijackThis, press Fix checked, OK the prompt and close HijackThis.

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Have you been updating and regularly scanning with AVG antivirus and antispyware?
I recommend you do a scan with Kaspersky to double-check and post the results for me to look over:

Open Kaspersky Online Scanner in Internet Explorer

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky,
Click Yes.
  • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
  • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT and then Scan Settings
  • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
    • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
      Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
    • Scan Options:
      Scan Archives
      Scan Mail Bases
  • Click OK
  • Now under select a target to scan:
      Select My Computer
  • The program will start to scan your system.
  • Once the scan is complete, click on the Save as Text button and save the file to your desktop
Note for Internet Explorer 7 users: If at any time you have trouble with the accept button of the license, click on the Zoom tool located at the right bottom of the IE window and set the zoom to 75 %. Once the license is accepted, reset to 100%.

Once complete, please post the Kaspersky report and a new HijackThis log.

Ok, I will do all that. I actually have been very good with all comp. maint. and scans, I just have not run hijack this in about 6 months and wanted to get one in.

Hi ARFF1Tampa,

That sounds fine. You should know that HijackThis doesn't show every kind of malware, just some of the most common types so having looked it over I can't say for sure that your machine is clean - but there's certainly no indication I can see of malware being present.

If you have had no detections or unusual activity flagged by your security software then I doubt there is any malware on your machine, but a 'second opinion' via an occasional online scan is a good practice because no antivirus or antispyware program detects everything.

Let me know how you get on :)

Ok, I'm just going to leave his alone for now as I've been keeping up on main maintenance and he's not having any problems. So you can close this one. Thank you.
