Hello,
First time infectee so forgive me if I bump into things a bit. Before I post a HJT log or anything maybe someone can merely make sense of something first. On booting up my TM OfficeScan's Real-Time scan finds that C:\Program Files\func.exe is infected by TROJ_Generic which can be detected but not cleaned. BUT, when I decided to run the full regular scan it finds nothing. I even turned off my System-Restore and scanned again...nothing. So I reboot and sure enough, Real-Time gives me the same thing. Ideas?
shawn,
You like a quick idea without posting a HJT log?
----------------------------------------------------------- Submit a file to Jotti Please go here : http://virusscan.jotti.org/ On top of the page there is a field to add the filepath.
Copy and paste this filepath:
C:\Program Files\func.exe
Then hit Submit or Upload, depending on the scanner.
The scan will take a while before the result comes up so please be patient.
Then copy and/or save the result and post it here in this thread.
If you would like another response, please include a fresh HJT log as well.
Thanks for the help but the oddest thing is going on. I can't find my virus now. I've restarted several times and where my OfficeScan Real-Time scan had been consistently pulling up that virus now it finds nothing. Neither does the regular full scan. I'm stumped. Am I in the clear or should I just say to heck with it and post a HJT log and see if you can make some sense of it?
