Hi, taffhelen.
I am in the process of reviewing your log.
Please bear with me as I have to get my replies checked before posting them.
This is so I won't turn your PC into an expensive paperweight! :)

This line in your log:

Logfile of HijackThis v1.99.0

shows that your version of HijackThis is out of date.
You can get the latest version from here

Also your log shows that you have Incredimail installed.
This link is not very complimentary. Unless it is something you use a lot, I would recommend uninstalling.

Finally, just for my own information, could you supply me some information on the following:
C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE.
To do this:
Double Left-Click My Computers,
Double Left-Click Local Disk C:,
Double Left-Click the Windows folder,
Locate Explorer.exe.
Right-Click it and from the menu that appears, Left-Click Properties.
Make a note of the information under both the General tab and the Version tab and post it here.

Otherwise, all's well. :)

Basically, it revolved around an entry in your log:

C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE

According to this link: http://www.iamnotageek.com/a/explorer.exe.php, there was a problem with the location.
When I posted the log for review, Bertha told me to check the properties if I was unsure. As she OK'ed the reply, it was obviously OK.
I compared your files properties with mine, and they matched.
If I had thought about it earlier, I would have checked the location of the file on my PC first. Live and learn!

I received this, courtesy of askey127:

'The use of Incredimail is open to malicious attacks, and in the User Agreement, claims permanent ownership of anything sent thru their mail service
See full article here: http://www.langa.com/newsletters/2002/2002-10-10.htm#6

Use your own judgment on it, of course. It is not technically spyware.
'

I'd seriously consider losing it.

As a matter of interest, did you read the EULA when you installed it? I never do, but I know I should.

Also, this line in your log:

C:\Documents and Settings\anthony laff\hijackthis\HijackThis.exe

isn't the most secure, even though it won't affect the effective use of HJT.
I should really have mentioned it at the time. I guess that's why i'm a trainee!

Check out this link: http://russelltexas.com/malware/createhjtfolder.htm for some helpful advice.
If nothing else, it's a useful link for the future.

Also, i'd check this post out: http://forum.malwareremoval.com/viewtopic.php?t=2349
I posted it because of your log.
All in all, you've kept me occupied for two days now. Thank-you. :)
