Anyone wanna bet Alonso is so happy this was the last race? :P
If Michael had a good run, things would have been very interesting. Alonso would have had to push if it wern't for the flat tire Schumie had while passing Fissi. That was the deciding factor to this race being more or less, for Alonso, a stroll in the park to clinch the title.

Kudos to the entire Reault team!! :king: :occasion5:

I for one fully expect next season to be one of the omst exciting in many years. Lots of talent still abounds, and with Michael on the sidelines, they will be fighting tooth and nail.

I imagine Alonso was extremely relieved this was the last race ;)

Kudos to him though for a fine season.

And to Schumi... gonna miss ya. Cheers to you for an illustrious career and for the excitement you infused in F1. You will always be the best.

Looking forward to next year... as you said, TeMerc... should be very exciting!

Not much more I can add.

It was a shame to see Schumi suffering with a puncture and not up the front pushing Alonso. Though in Schumi's pre-race interviews he seemed to have given up on the title, you just knew he would still push for it. Ultimately, Schumi has had achievements and a career that'll see him as an all-time great.

I'm looking forward to next year - with Kimi and Alonso moving, Honda and Jenson improving, it's roll on next March !!

Fantastic record... but Schumi is only equal fourth on the 'best all-time driver list' compiled by Stirling Moss

Nice stats. And you know what. Alonso is very similar now as Schumi was when he left Benetton. Although going to Mclaren it can make him or break him. A loose wire there.

Great champion left on a typical note. I do think he could of won it. The Ferrari's were blisteringly quick. But Alonso knew what he had to do. Finish in the points. 8th at the worst.

All in all next season should be great. Empty, but great.

Thanks :D

I don't think moving to MC bodes well for him, seeing that Mclarens record has indeed faltered over the last 4-5 years, with no domination in any area, regardless of who is driving. Not enough dependability by any stretch.

Great drivers can't win if they don't finish. They just languish as 'good drivers' in need of dependable hardware. Ferrari and Renault have been the best at that, more so the Scuderia, but the last two years Renault have been a second with no close rivals for third really.

The new talent racing for the top four or five teams is incredible though. New driver at Renault. Mclaren may go with a young british driver along with their new driver who happens to be Alonso.

Ferrari get Kimi along with probably the best improved driver of this last season, Massa. I remember his driving style when he was at the old Sauber. He was all over the place sometimes.

Honda had a fast last car. All though their engine is now frozen in development for 4 seasons. Because of a new regulation that I think is a bad one. However in Button they have a smooth driver.

As many have stated, should be very exciting.

Was a great season, IMO one of the best in recent years.

I have to agree with Martin Brundles assessment of Shumi as "a flawed genius".

Also ive a feeling that we may not have seen the last of him yet, wouldnt be at all surprised if he went back to racing after a year off.

I hope Jenson can add to his number of wins next year, i cant wait for the new season to start.

I wouldn't be suprised at all. However if he doesn't go that way. I think he may start to teach new young drivers after a break. He did this to his brother in karting.

Whatever he does. Ferrari say he will have some part to play if he wants. He also took the car he used to his museum. I wouldn't mind visiting that.

Winning 91 Formula 1 races in 16 years + being world champion for 7 of those years = F1 greatest driver @ 80 ml per

Retiring at the top + having the Scuderia team give you the car you last drove = a little extra cash if ya need it

Having a Sheikh offer you an island off the coast of Dubai, measuring 9 kilometers by 6 kilometers for free + unbelievably priceless!!
