Microsoft activated its disaster response protocol to monitor the situation in Japan and other areas on tsunami warning alert, and offer support as appropriate. See the full article at Community Involvement: Disaster Response – Corporate Citizenship.

Also, if you have a Twitter account, you can help support Japan. Just Retweet: http://twitter.com/#!/bing/status/46597693585358848 and Bing will donate $1 up to $100K.

It appears some people got the wrong impression of Bing's offer, Bing Tweet:

Quote:
We apologize the tweet was negatively perceived. Intent was to provide an easy way for people to help Japan. We have donated $100K.

If you haven't seen these images yet, definitely check them out. They are horrifically amazing. Horrific because of the obvious devastation. Amazing because of what technology can show us.

Aerial photos taken over Japan have revealed the scale of devastation across dozens of suburbs and tens of thousands of homes and businesses. Hover over each satellite photo to view the devastation caused by the earthquake and tsunami.

Thanks for the link Corrine, those pics really drive home just what a traumatic event this has been.

Our hearts go out to all those who have been affected by this tragedy.
