JAVA Updates

Latest Java Updates

We all use Java either on our own computers, or in our canned speeches to Users, and we also all know how useless Sun Microsystems are at notifying people about the latest update. So this thread has been created so that people can post here when they know that a new Java version has been released.

Previously people have just created their own topic in this room (Room 02), but by having this sticky, everyone will know both where to post when a new version of Java is released, and where to look, when they want to know what the latest version is.

Currently the latest version is ..... 6u21 .... Please post here when you know differently ;)

You're welcome.

Note that it doesn't contain Security fixes. Nonetheless, I personally prefer to have OP's update when a new update is available.

Bug Fixes

Java SE 6u23 does not contain any additional fixes for security vulnerabilities to its previous release, Java SE 6u22. Users who have Java SE 6u22 have the latest security fixes and do not need to upgrade to this release to be current on security fixes.

The Installer for Java SE 6 Update 24 now contains an installer for McAfee Security Scan Plus. Be sure the box to install this add-on is UNchecked. It is Adware.

Thanks for the heads up DL :)

Be aware, the format of the download screen has changed... make the appropriate changes to you canned speeches. My Room 90 speeches have been updated, if helpful.
