Latest Antivirus comparisons from av-test.org

Unread postby Pietzki » January 23rd, 2008, 8:30 am

Hey all, I hope this is in the right part of the forum...

Av-test.org have released their latest antivirus test results.
Seems like overall avira antivir did the best job (ahead of kaspersky, bitdefender and several other AV programs with a good reputation). Unfortunately there is no comparison between the free and paid editions of each antivirus, and I assume it is the paid ones which got tested. Having said that, avira's paid version only features faster updates (note: faster, not earlier), spy/adware protection and email scanning, so the test results should not change for the free one.

Very interesting results, I was surprised at how bad kaspersky came out..

Just thought I'd share this with those who don't read the sunbelt blog...
