Get well soon Jim ;)

I had the exact same thing about 10 yrs ago. You go in to think it's going to be a "Band-Aid" job and come out with about a 4-5 inch cut. I was in the hospital for 5 days myself. Hope yours wasn't that bad ;)

Strange - I posted to this thread a while ago but it seems to have gone missing.

Get well soon Jim - you have helped me out a lot of times and I am truly grateful.

Love to your family.

... and all tucked into bed. Still on antibiotics and vicodin. I doubt
any of you will be hearing from him for several more days. But soon
he'll be good as new (plus 65 years).

Thank you for the update - prayers are working I see.

Tell him not to worry, I know he probably is. Tell him we have no issues we have not been able to cope with.

Remember to have some quality time for yourself too.

Just so Jim doesn't think he isn't needed, I 'could' break something

Excellent news! We'll be glad to see him back, however I'm sure he will follow doctor's orders

I was doing a fine job keeping myself away - surprisingly fine, in fact - of keeping myself away! Lots of pain and lots of pain medicine will do that, coupled with the residual effects of being under general anasthesia for about two hours.

Thanks for all the good thoughts and prayers. It looks like they worked!

That's an absolutely miserable way to spend a weekend. My appendix was beginning to rupture by the time I was operated on, which was last Thursday evening PST, and so the intended laproscopic method couldn't be done. So they took it out the old-fashioned way. :(

There's potential for severe infection if an appendix ruptures, but fortunately the broad-spectrum antibiotics I've been taking seem to have controlled that. With enough Vicodin, it doesn't hurt extremely badly, but that's quite a bit of Vicodin!

My brain and fingers agree even less than usual about what I'm doing, so I'll be taking it easy for the next few days. This morning was the first time I'd felt up to tackling all the accumulated EMAIL.

I wanted everyone to know that I'm improving, and how deeply I appreciate your thoughts and comments. It's the work that all of you do that inspires me to do the work that I do.
