sp1 patch questions

Unread postby brummer » August 18th, 2006, 9:40 am

i was wondering i had downloaded the patch sometime back, and it seems like my windows is wanting to update more now then it did when in the past, before support was going out for sp1.
is this normal for this to happen?
its probably on the average everytime im logged on the computer!!
How will i know its done for good, or back up to par?
I need to resend a high jack this log back in, and get things ready for sp2.
Thanks, any help appreciated!!

You do need SP2.

If not you will soon net be able to get security updates.

Post a HJT log - and well confirm you are all clean before you try to install it.

Unread postby brummer » August 18th, 2006, 10:32 am

thanks for replying back chris! ill have a new log on tonight!
seems like the updating is taking longer then i suspected!
some of the updates are longer then others!, but its not uncommon for it to update 2-3 times per everytime im on the comp!
i did try sometime back to update to service pack 2, and it said access denied!
Could this be caused from spyware software, or antivirus
i wonder if it could be loaded in safe mode!
thanks againg for replying back chris!
P.S. IVE ALREADY GOT THE SP2 DISK I OREDERED FROM MCIROSOFT THEMSELVES!
