Hi... have you been using different user accounts to log on through this process? Or just one account?

Hmmm... now that is strange... that Run key should've been present in HKU.

Do this for me please...

Copy the following text to a new Notepad document. Make sure that wordwrap is turned off in notepad - click the format menu and uncheck wordwrap.

strComputer = "."
Set objWMIService = GetObject("winmgmts:\\" & strComputer & "\root\cimv2")

Set objAccount = objWMIService.Get _
("Win32_SID.SID='S-1-5-21-1733290971-784569582-2966927733-1005'")
Wscript.Echo objAccount.AccountName

Save it to your desktop as as siduser.vbs. Save it as :
File Type: All Files (not as a text document or it wont work).
Name: siduser.vbs

Double click siduser.vbs. A window will appear with the user's account name. Post it back as a reply please.

If any of your protection programs warn you about a script being run when trying the above... allow it to run please.

Thanks!

No information inside the box. Just a small box with the above statement.

Hello again... can you try this for me please...

Create a new folder on your desktop named Import by right clicking an empty space on your desktop, selecting New, Folder, and type Import.

Copy/paste the following text into a new Notepad document. Make sure that wordwrap is turned off in notepad - click the format menu and uncheck wordwrap.

(Echo %DATE% %TIME%
If exist empty.hiv del empty.hiv
If not Exist "originalkey.txt" Echo Backing up original BHO KEY & regedit /a /e "originalkey.txt" "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run"
IF exist "originalkey.txt" Echo Backup Created Successfully
Echo.....
Echo Creating HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run1

reg add HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run1
echo.....
Echo Saving HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run1
Reg Save HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run1 Empty.hiv
echo.....
Echo Deleting HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run1
reg delete HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run1 /f
echo.....
Echo Replacing HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run with empty hive
reg restore "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run" empty.hiv

)>logit.txt 2>&1

Start logit.txt

If exist empty.hiv del empty.hiv

Save it in the new Import folder on your desktop as r.bat. Save it as :
File Type: All Files (not as a text document or it wont work).
Name: r.bat

The file must be called r.bat and has to be saved the Import folder to work. Overwrite the existing r.bat.

Copy the following text to another new Notepad document. Make sure that wordwrap is turned off in notepad - click the format menu and uncheck wordwrap.

'create a file named r.bat
'Put r.bat in the same folder as this script
'run the script to set a task which will
'then run r.bat with System Privileges in a minute

'Written by Mosaic1
'Use at your own risk

Dim Future, NewD ,Short,Location ,batty

set fso = Wscript.CreateObject("Scripting.FilesystemObject")
Set Wshshell = Wscript.CreateObject("Wscript.shell")

NewD = DateAdd("n" , 1, Now)
Future = FormatDateTime(NewD,3)

Set Location = fso.GetFile("r.bat")
Short = Location.ShortPath

Wshshell.run "Cmd.exe /c" & "At" & Chr(32) & Chr(34) & Future & Chr(34) & Chr(32) & "/Interactive" & Chr(32) & Short ,vbhidden 'Set the task

MsgBox " Setup Done!"

Set fso = nothing
Set Wshshell = nothing
Set Location = nothing

Save it in the new Import folder on your desktop as Importbat.vbs. Save it as :
File Type: All Files (not as a text document or it wont work).
Name: Importbat.vbs

Click Start then Run and type in services.msc and click Ok
Scroll down and double click on the service called Task Scheduler and set the Startup Type to Automatic if it isn't. Click Apply then click Ok.

Open the Import folder on your Desktop.
  • Watch the clock in your task bar.
  • When the minute turns over...
  • Double click Importbat.vbs
You will get a "Setup Done" prompt. The application will appear to do nothing ... wait a minute and Notepad will open with logit.txt.

If your antivirus alerts you about the script, allow it to run. It is not malicious.

Next, copy/paste the following text into a new Notepad document. Make sure that you have one blank line at the end of the document as shown in the quoted text.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"MtdAcq"="C:\\Program Files\\Creative\\Shared Files\\Media Sniffer\\MtdAcq.EXE /s"
"ATI DeviceDetect"="C:\\Program Files\\ATI Multimedia\\main\\ATIDtct.EXE"

Save it to your desktop as Fixme.reg. Save it as :
File Type: All Files (not as a text document or it wont work).
Name: Fixme.reg

Locate Fixme.reg on your desktop and double-click it. When asked if you want to merge with the registry, click YES. Wait for the merged successfully prompt.
Please post the content of logit.txt and a new HijackThis log.

If you want to put it back into the Startup Folder... goto C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup and create a shortcut to C:\WINDOWS\system32\RAMASST.exe there.

Still looking into that 04 and why it won't go away :P

OK... have gotten some other ideas from the calvary :D

Copy/paste the following quote box into a notepad document.

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
""=""

Save it to your desktop as fixme.reg... File Type All Files. Double click fixme.reg and answer yes when asked to merge it into the registry. Reboot and post a new HJT log please.

If that doesn't work we'll try something else 8)
