Unread postby shadowen » March 12th, 2006, 2:47 pm

Hey guys. I have been having problems for about a week now. My computer has slowed down a lot. No matter what program i try to open, it takes about 1 minute, actual time, for it to open. I have also noticed in task manager that occaisionally some tasks have ALOT of resources allocated to it. Msn messenger has been running as high as 177,000k mem usage and one of the svchost has been running about 30,000k. I have run varios antivirus and spyware tools without any luck. Here is my HJT log from today:

My computer had finished crashing out, so i had to reformat over the weekend. I think it turned out to be a windows problem othern malware. I had already tried most of the things you mentioned except for the ATF cleaner, and had zero success. I later found out that another person (wife) had installed and uninstalled ICQ. She said that it started acting wierd after she installed it, so she took it off. I checked the system root folder and found numerous occurences of several .dll files. They would look somthing like this, xxxxx.dll. xxxxx.dll(1) xxxxx.dll(2) etc. I appreciate your response though, and everything is back to normal after the reformat. I even tried system restore, but none of the restore points would restore, kept failing.
