First of all, you will need to print out this post and/or save a copy as a text file in Notepad; that way you have a hard copy of these instructions; you can not have IE/Firefox/any browser open during the fix

I see you have Ewido installed.
You will need to update ewido to the latest definition files:
    Start Ewido
    • On the left hand side of the main screen click update.
    • Then click on Start Update.
  • The update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
(the status bar at the bottom will display "Update successful")
  • Close Ewido Security Suite
If you are having problems with the updater, you can use this link to manually update ewido.
Ewido manual updates

Next, please enable viewing of hidden files as follows:
1) Go to My Computer, and click on the "Tools" menu
2) Click "Folder options"
3) Select the "View" tab
4) Make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is selected
5) Make sure "Hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked
6) Make sure "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" is unchecked

Please run HijackThis and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entries:

  • R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = <style>
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [exp] C:\WINDOWS\system32\wfwall1.exe
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [WindowsXPserv] svcnxp32.exe
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [w] C:\WINDOWS\system32\w
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Setup2-71.exe] C:\WINDOWS\system32\Setup2-71.exe
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mc-58-12-] C:\WINDOWS\system32\mc-58-12-
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [mc-11] C:\WINDOWS\system32\mc-11
  • O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [pcdysl] c:\windows\system32\pcdysl.exe pcdysl
  • O4 - Startup: Reboot.exe
  • O16 - DPF: {88D758A3-D33B-45FD-91E3-67749B4057FA} (Sinstaller Class) - http://dm.screensavers.com/dm/installer ... taller.cab

Close all browser and other windows except for HijackThis, and click "Fix Checked".

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
  • Restart your computer
  • After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, tap F8.
  • Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
  • Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml

Next, delete the following files (if they exist):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\wfwall1.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Setup2-71.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mc-58-12-May be more number here
C:\WINDOWS\system32\mc-11 May be more number here
c:\windows\system32\pcdysl.exe
c:\windows\system32\svcnxp32.exe

Start Ewido Security Suite
  • Click on scanner. (Note: Do not start any programs or open any windows while Ewido is scanning)
  • Click on Complete System Scan, the scan will now begin.
  • While the scan is in progress you will be promted to clean files, click OK.
  • When it asks if you want to clean the first file, put a checkmark in the lower left corner of the box that says "Perform action on all infections", then choose clean and click OK.
  • Once the scan has completed, there will be a button located at the bottom of the screen named Save Report.
  • Click Save Report.
  • Now save the report .txt file to your desktop.
  • Close Ewido Security Suite

When Ewido is finished scanning; reboot back to normal mode.

Post
  • The Ewido log
  • A new HijackThis log
in your next reply here.

First of all, you will need to print out this post and/or save a copy as a text file in Notepad; that way you have a hard copy of these instructions; you can not have IE/Firefox/any browser open during the fix

You are running HijackThis from a temp location..please unzip a copy to it's own, permanent folder.
Help with unzipping files is HERE

Next, please enable viewing of hidden files as follows:
1) Go to My Computer, and click on the "Tools" menu
2) Click "Folder options"
3) Select the "View" tab
4) Make sure "Show hidden files and folders" is selected
5) Make sure "Hide extensions for known file types" is unchecked
6) Make sure "Hide protected operating system files (recommended)" is unchecked

Click HERE to download Atri's ATF Cleaner (Atri'sTempFile)..Download to your desktop.
More info on this tool HERE

Please run HijackThis and click "Scan." Place checks next to the following entries:[list]

[*]O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [exp] C:\WINDOWS\system32\wfwall1.exe
[*]O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [Yahoo! Pager] 1
[*]O16 - DPF: {D8089245-3211-40F6-819B-9E5E92CD61A2} (FlashXControl Object) - https://register3.valueactive.com/mpp_2 ... lashAX.cab /list]

Close all browser and other windows except for HijackThis, and click "Fix Checked".

Delete the following files (if they exist):

C:\WINDOWS\system32\wfwall1.exe

Close ALL browsers and then run the ATFCleaner>check Select All>Click Empty Selected>OK>Close it

Restart your computer and rerun HijackThis. Please post a new HijackThis log in a reply to this thread.

Can you be more specific about the winzip popup?? What does it say and when are you getting it??

As far as uninstalling programs..No you will not be reinfected with anything they removed BUT if you remove Notron you will be with out a Anti-Virus program..there are some free one listed in my signature and I can recomend a couple of different ones if you wish.

Everything else still fine?? Log looks good.

Win anti spy

Unread postby Rick McClure » January 6th, 2006, 9:04 am

I am sorry I meant the Winfix or something like that, I have not seen it in a couple of days, it is an ad to purchase their anti-spyware. It may be fixed, Thanks for all of your help I thought I was going to have to buy a new hard drive.
