1. Do you have the manual that come from together with the computer? If so, please check Chapter 1: Getting started ==>Recovering the internal storage.

I think the manual that I download from internet might be different.

2. Try this:
a. Turn off your computer.
b. While holding down 0 (zero) key, turn on your computer.
c. A menu will be displayed from which you should follow the on-screen instructions.

Note: The manual that I had gave your in previous post might be slightly different, choose the options that close to it. If you still fail, name me the options that you have.

Hi Chrisg2441:

maybe if we did a fix i could run the system repair, i will have a look in the box tomorrow and see what i have!

1. Where did you see the System Repair options?

when we finaly get round to reinstalling the os, can this be done from my external hard drive or do i have to put the os on a dvd?

2. I guess you are asking whether you can reinstall the windows with external hard disk or DVD, the answer is "yes".

For your information, the original OS (windows starter) is actually saved on a separate hidden partition in your computer, and a Full System recovery will rewrite it to the system partitions of the hard drive. The upgrade (windows home premium) would have to be performed again. You will need to have a record of your upgrade key code that you obtain from microsoft.

3. You may try this:
1. Restart the computer.

2. Repeatedly tap the F8 or F12 key until you see the Advanced Boot Option Screen.

3. Select Repair Your Computer and hit Enter.

4. Select your country >> OK.

5. On the System Recovery Options Screen, select Restore Application.

6. Follow the on-screen instructions.

8. When prompted, select on "Full Factory Recovery"

9. Select Next >> Yes.

10. After a couple of minutes the recovery will be completed.

I hope this work, otherwise, I need to sent you to other expert or you may need to request tech support from the PC manufacturer for the procedure to follow.

4. Do you create the recovery DVD when you receive the computer?

thanks,
