Unread postby tnfarmer » January 12th, 2012, 5:12 pm

Issue: Malarebyte finds and removes tauuaozosvoe.bat file, which is supposed to be a Generic 26.BKVC varient(?). When W7 opens, to my user desktop, screen is black, windows explorer detects no folders in any drive, the Start Menu displays no programs, I cannot open any other programs. Currently using safe mode to seek help here. I could not zip the second DDS file, sorry.

Re: Malware Malwarebyte cannot remove

Unread postby diver79 » January 13th, 2012, 9:11 am

Hi and welcome to MalwareRemoval.com, sorry for any delay in answering your request for help, the forum is really busy.
My name is Diver79, and I will be helping you with your malware problems. I am currently in training at the Malware University. All of my instructions need to be checked and approved by a teacher, which may lead to a slight delay.

Before we start please note the following important guidelines.
  • The instructions given are for THIS computer only! Using these instructions on a different computer, can make it inoperable!
  • Please DO NOT run any other software or scans whilst I am helping you.

Note: If you haven't done so already, please ensure you have read the following article. ALL USERS OF THIS FORUM MUST READ THIS FIRST where the conditions for receiving help here are explained.
diver79 wrote:Please be aware that removing Malware is a potentially hazardous undertaking. I will take care not to knowingly suggest courses of action that might damage your computer. However it is impossible for me to foresee all interactions that may happen between the software on your computer and those we'll use to clear you of infection, and I cannot guarantee the safety of your system. It is possible that we might encounter situations where the only recourse is to re-format and re-install your operating system, or to necessitate you taking your computer to a repair shop.
Because of this, I advise you to backup any personal files and folders before you start.
How do I backup my files and folders in XP?
How to backup your data - Vista/Win7

Looking into your logs now. Will post instructions soon...

Hi tnfarmer,

Apologies for the delay, please follow the instructions below and reply back with the requested logs.

multiple Anti Virus programs
  • It looks like you are operating your computer with multiple Anti Virus programs running in memory at once:
    avast! Free Antivirus
    AVG
  • Anti-virus programs take up an enormous amount of your computer's resources when they are actively scanning your computer.
  • Having two anti-virus programs running at the same time can cause your computer to run very slow, become unstable and even, in rare cases, crash.
  • Please remove one of them by booting into Safe Mode. I would suggest keeping avast Antivirus.
    • Click on the start button
    • In the Search Programs and files text area type appwiz.cpl and press Enter
    • Press the "Remove" or "Change/Remove"...button to uninstall one of the programs listed above.
    • While you are there please also uninstall the below programs.
Adobe Reader 9.4.7
Coupon Printer for Windows
Java(TM) 6 Update 21
WeatherBug

SystemLook
Please download SystemLook_x64.exe... by jpshortstuff and save it to your Desktop.
Alternate download site.
Note: Boot the computer into Safe mode wih Networking in order to dowload this file.

Thank you VERY much for your help - I needed my computer for meetings early this week, so I took it to a local geek shop where they charged me $70 to restore it to operating condition. I do appreciate you assistance, and I've downloaded the programs you cited and instructions on using same for future (hopefully never) use.

Hi tnfarmer,

No problem, now that the computer is clean please follow the cleanup instructions below and then delete any remaining tools previously downloaded.

Clean up with OTL
  • Right-click OTL.exe and select Run as Administrator. This will remove all the tools we used to clean your pc.
  • Close all other programs apart from OTL as this step will require a reboot
  • On the OTL main screen, press the CleanUp! button
  • Say Yes to the prompt and then allow the program to reboot your computer.

Additional Security Tips.
Update your Antivirus programs and other programs regularly.
Secunia Personal Software Inspector - Copyright © Secunia. This app will monitor programs on your computer for known vulnerabilities. You can set it to auto-update for you, or just prompt you if an update is available. I highly recommend it.
