Hi above82,

We've got some stubborn files. :( Let's try this:

Close all windows and browsers.
Open HijackThis

Click on Open Misc Tools
Click on Delete a File On Reboot
Click once on each file below to select it:

C:\WINDOWS\iNetPal\ezTSetup.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\gebcd.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\InstaFinder_inst245.exe

Click on "back"button. Now, click on scan and fix the following entry which I missed earlier:

O8 - Extra context menu item: &Search - http://edits.mywebsearch.com/toolbaredi ... xdm801YYUS

Close HijackThis and Restart your computer.

Run Panda online scan again and post the result and a new HijackThis log please.

i could only find the instafinder file. the others dont seem to be in the location noted.

im not sure if i understood exactly but i found the windows\system32\instafinder_inst245.exe file, clicked on it only one time and hit back on the drop down for local disk..but didnt know if it was supposed to do anything, then scanned with hijack...was a little bit confusing so im not sure if its right.

Well, it was supposed to have killed the files when you restarted your computer. I'll have to consult my guru and come back to you later.

OK Let's try this now:

Please open Notepad and copy/paste the following text inside the Code box into a new file: It's important that you use notepad, not wordpad.

-r -h -s C:\WINDOWS\iNetPal\ezTSetup.exe
del C:\WINDOWS\iNetPal\ezTSetup.exe
attrib -r -h -s C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\gebcd.dll
del C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\gebcd.dll
attrib -r -h -s C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\InstaFinder_inst245.exe
del C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\InstaFinder_inst245.exe

Save the file to the desktop as remove.bat and make sure the "Save as Type" field says "All Files". Then please go to the desktop and double-click on remove.bat.

the panda scan showed no malware infections and had no report to save.

now that its fixed...can i activate the spysweeper program and do i have to change any other options that i have changed during this fix? you had me uncheck a few options here and there.

also, can i delete any of these programs i downloaded or should i keep them, and are any of them good for maintenance. Like scanning myself and then posting on here once in awhile to check if there are any fixes needed?

i cant thank you enough this is a great site and i will highly recommend you guys to anyone who is having these problems.
