Hi gm123 :) ,

Let's try to find and delete bdsearch.

Backup your Registry...
- Press "CTRL - ALT - DEL" keys all at the same time to start "Task Manager"
- In the Task Manager window click on "File", then from the drop-down menu select "New Task (Run...)"
- In the "Create New Task" window enter\type "regedit" (without quotes)
- Once Regedit opens click on the FILE menu and select Export
- Save the file as backup. Save the file somewhere you will remember and not delete.
IMPORTANT: make sure to set the export range to ALL

========================

Download Registrar Lite, which is a free, relatively simple, and easy to use registry editor, in order to improve your chances of correctly finding and deleting bdsearch.

Download it to your desktop and once downloaded, Install it.

Then run it via the shortcut it creates on the desktop. In the toolbar select Search>Search Registry. In the Text part type in bdsearch. And in Search In, drop it down and select Registry. Press enter. From here you can delete bdsearch by right clicking and selecting Delete selected reg keys and values.

If you can't delete it from there, highlight the key and click on the red check mark at the bottom of the window and from there you can change the permissions. Then try and delete.

Reboot and run Panda again.

Please post a new HijackThis log and the Panda online scan result.

Higm123,

Lets give this a try.

Please backup your Registry

- Press "CTRL - ALT - DEL" keys all at the same time to start "Task Manager"
- In the Task Manager window click on "File", then from the drop-down menu select "New Task (Run...)"
- In the "Create New Task" window enter\type "regedit" (without quotes)
- Once Regedit opens click on the FILE menu and select Export
- Save the file as backup. Save the file somewhere you will remember and not delete.
IMPORTANT: make sure to set the export range to ALL
==================================
We recommend you download RegSeeker. Extract it to it's own folder, open and double click RegSeeker.exe to start the program. Maximize the window and click clean registry. Check all sections and click OK. When the scan is complete, verify the backup box in lower left corner is checked and click the select all button, then select all again. Then right click within the search results and select delete. Run it again and again, deleting everything it finds until it finds nothing. Reboot and make sure your programs are working properly, control panel and add/remove programs windows open, etc (basically just do a quick check of everything). In the event anything was 'broken', you can open RegSeeker, click backups and double click any/all files to put the information back. A reboot may be required for the effects to be seen. Reboot When done
================================
Run Panda again. Post a new HijackThis and the Panda scan result., please

Hi gm123 :) ,

I am in consultation with my "guru" to come up with a solution to free you of bdsearch. That's the reason it's taking time. Please bear with me. Thanks. :)

Hi gm123 :) ,

Thank you for being patient. :) It looks like you didn't/couldn’t delete the values for bdsearch from the registry. :( Let's try these now and see:

Please copy/paste the following quote box into a new notepad (not wordpad) document.

regedit /e startup.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig"
notepad startup.txt
del /q startup.txt

Save it to your Desktop as look.bat. Save it as:
File Type: All Files (not as a text document or it wont work).
Name: look.bat

Locate look.bat on your Desktop and double-click it. When notepad opens, copy/paste the content in your reply. When you close Notepad the CMD window will close automatically and the text file will be deleted.

============================

Make sure that you can see hidden files

Click Start
" Open My Computer
" Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options
" Select the View Tab
" Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders
" Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option
" Click Yes to confirm
" Click OK

==================================
Then, using XP search utility, search for BDSrHook.dll and delete every instance of it found.
==================================
Back up the registry first.

==================================
Open notepad. It must be notepad, not wordpad.
Copy and paste the text in the code box below into notepad.
Choose file save as and set file type to all files.
Type fixreg.reg in the file name and save it to your desktop.

Code: Select all
REGEDIT4

Close notepad. Make sure that all windows are closed.

Find the fixreg.reg file on your desktop.
Double click it.
It will then ask if you want the file merged to your registry.
Answer yes.

That should get all those items removed.

Run Panda again and post the result, content of the look.bat, and a new HijackThis log please.

Hi gm123,

We are going to repeat the process, but there are some points that I want to make sure:

1. About the look.bat: Once you open it, you need to copy the contents before you close it. It's deleted when you close the notepad.
2. There is a slight change in the registry fix now. It's going to have one blank line at the end.
3. Since you've already backed up the registry, I am not going to ask you to do it again.

============================

" Click OK

==================================
Open notepad. It must be notepad, not wordpad, otherwise it won't work.
Copy and paste the text in the code box below into notepad.
Choose file save as and set file type to all files.
Type fixreg.reg in the file name and save it to your desktop.

Code: Select all
REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"BIE"=-
[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{BC207F7D-3E63-4ACA-99B5-FB5F8428200C}]

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CNNIC]
[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Baidu]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\BDHelper]

Close notepad. Make sure that all windows are closed.

Find the fixreg.reg file on your desktop.
Double click it.
It will then ask if you want the file merged to your registry.
Answer yes.

=======================================================

Open an new notepad. Please copy/paste the following quote box into a new notepad (not wordpad) document, otherwise it won't work.

regedit /e startup.txt "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\MSConfig"
notepad startup.txt
del /q startup.txt

Save it to your Desktop as look.bat. Save it as:
File Type: All Files (not as a text document or it wont work).
Name: look.bat

Locate look.bat on your Desktop and double-click it. When notepad opens, copy/paste the content in your reply. When you close Notepad the CMD window will close automatically and the text file will be deleted.

==============================================
Run Panda again and post the result, content of the look.bat, and a new HijackThis log please.
