Vista Anti Virus 2011 removal

Unread postby Nytol2 » May 6th, 2011, 4:54 pm

Hello
My computer is infected with the 'Vista Anti Virus 2011' malware.

It blocks all internet browsers (IE, firefox, chrome.) It lets the programs run but will not go to any website.

Task manager can run, but it cannot stop the malware's processes.

I have malwarebytes installed, but it is blocked from working.

Can somebody help me please?

We understand that you are having difficulty running certain programs, possibly including DDS. However, in order for us to help you it is necessary that you provide us with a DDS and/or other logs, and it is possible you may be able to do this by following these instructions:

Download/run Rkill:

Using a different computer, download Rkill from one of the following links, burn it to a CD or DVD (avoid using a USB flash drive, which could easily become infected) and move it to the infected computer's Desktop:

One, Two or Three

  • Double click on Rkill.
  • A command window will open then disappear upon completion, this is normal.
  • Please leave Rkill on the Desktop until otherwise advised.

Note: If your security software warns about Rkill, please ignore and allow the download to continue.

Next, please follow the guideline at the link below to start a new topic and post your DDS log. If you are unable to create and post a log, then your only option may be to reformat your computer and reinstall the operating system.

This topic is now closed. Please start a new topic by following the guideline posted here: >Guideline for posting your DDS log<
