I'm sorry I couldn't download the DDS thing to run the diagnostics tool for my laptop.. A couple days ago I got kicked out of WoW and a popup came up of some random Vista antivirus program that I had never seen before sayin I had infections. I tried random things for about 2 hours and finally got Microsoft Security essentials to open, run, and remove rogue malware is what it was called. So then I noticed that it was not completely gone so I used system restore and went back a few days. Now everything looks normal and is fine except for the fact that I cant download anything from any site on the internet. I can't watch my lectures on Tegrity because of this too.. I have a test in pharmacy calculations in 2 days and neeed to watch those lectures so please please help me as soon as you can. The error message that comes up always says similar things .....Internet Explorer cannot download (whatever im trying to download name) from (wherever its from) ...Internet Explorer was not able to open this internet site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot be found. Please try again later. I know this is the cause from that damn Malware... I am running a Vista home edition x64 operating system up to date with service packs and all.

We understand that you are having difficulty downloading programs. However, in order for us to help you it is necessary that you provide us with a DDS log, and it is possible you may be able to do this by following these instructions:

Download/run Rkill:

Please use another computer and download Rkill from one of the following links and burn it to a CD. Then transfer it to the infected computer's desktop:

One, Two or Three

  • Double click on Rkill.
  • A command window will open then disappear upon completion, this is normal.
  • Please leave Rkill on the Desktop until otherwise advised.

Note: If your security software warns about Rkill, please ignore and allow the download to continue.

Next, please follow the guideline at the link below to start a new topic and post your DDS log. If you are unable to create and post a DDS log, then start a new topic and state that you were unable run DDS.

Once you have posted your DDS log in a new topic, DO NOT respond to that topic until you have received a reply from a helper. Our helpers only look for and respond to topics with 0 replies.

This topic is now closed. Please start a new topic by following the guideline posted here: >Guideline for posting your DDS log<
