i have been going nuts trying to fix this problem. my computer is extremely slow and freezes up for a few minutes at a time. the only thing i've been able to do is find the name of the virus using stinger. it is a fake alert trojan and the entire thing reads
c:\windows\system32\macromed\flash\flashutil10m_activex.exe
then it read that it was a fakealert-REPtrojan
i ran malwarbytes in safe mode but it didn't find any problems. i use mcafee total protection and that didn't stop the virus. can someone please help me? i have a startup list but it's all greek to me and i don't really know what the purpose of that is. i'm thinking it is something that will help you determine which virus i have but i already know that. if i'm wrong let me know and i'll add it.
thank you, sue
