Malware Returns (vadijovahe - lewineri.dlg)

Unread postby elmerrn » March 8th, 2011, 5:31 pm

I have had problems with this one before but was able to remove it because the programs that were placed in Windows/System32 directory were easlily spotted and removed (names like A, B, C, etc with current date in Date modified column.) If you remove the registry entry it would come right back. If you deleted the program in System32 directory, a new one with a different name was created.

Eventually I found the Process Image Name it was hiding in (I think it was Explorer), stopped the task, deleted the programs, removed the registry entry and all was good.

None of that works anymore. It's hiding in memory pretty good and I can't find any programs it is using.

Search the log for "vadijovahe" or "lewineri.dlg", about half way down. This is the problem entry.

I have copied my HiJack This log:

Hi elmerrn,

Before we start, I see

C:\PROGRA~1\IBM\CLIENT~1\Emulator\pcsws.exe
running in your log (a client program to connect to an AS400 server), and that the computer is joined to a domain, these are normally signs of a computer used in a business environment (Ozark National Life) rather than a home computer.

Please let me know if the computer is used for home or for business use.
