Hi there,

I have a Dell XPS Laptop running Windows XP that has been infected with Antivirus Malware that causes continual pop ups and redirects to websites name ""adult.com" "porno.com" & "viagra.com".

Unfortunately (and a seemingly bigging issue) the computer will not boot in safemode and after attemting loaded several start up files freezes and goes to a blue screen which states windows has found a problem and will shut down. I do not even have a boot disk at this time so am at my wits end, are there any options for me?

Thanks for your help on this one, I'm baffled and surrending.

In order to help you, we need to see logs from your computer. Hopefully, following the below instruction will make that possible. If not, then your only option may be to reformat and do a clean install of Windows.

Download/run Rkill:

Please download Rkill from one of the following links and save to your Desktop:

One, Two or Three

  • Double click on Rkill.
  • A command window will open then disappear upon completion, this is normal.
  • Please leave Rkill on the Desktop until otherwise advised.

Note: If your security software warns about Rkill, please ignore and allow the download to continue.

Next, please follow the guideline at the link below to start a new topic and post your HijackThis log. If you are unable to create and post a HijackThis log, then your only option may be to reformat your computer and reinstall the operating system.

This topic is now closed. Please start a new topic by following the HijackThis Guideline posted here: >Guideline for posting your HijackThis log<
