Malware problem

Unread postby pofallon » January 27th, 2011, 6:59 pm

hello,

i have a dell vostro laptop computer. i have had a malware issue before but it was 12 months ago or longer. so i have malware installed on my laptop already. when i saw i was infected ( IE would not open or would try sending me to porn/viagra sites ) and anti spyware is trying to scan and install itself, i ran the malware program i had already. it found a trojan virus and we removed it. it then wanted me to reboot my computer. so i did. well, the virus is still here and it got into my malware program and wont open it. i have tried several of the things being posted and cannot get hijack software to run on my laptop. it says my adminstrator setting are preventing me. i've tried renaming the program and it doesn't help. i've tried safe mode and i got in the first couple times and then as i was following another instruction about getting the hijack software on my laptop it froze up in safe mode and i have not gotten back on since. now i'm trying to boot up in regular mode and it just keeps trying to start and it's been several minutes. not sure if things have gone from bad to worse or what to think at this point. so i will wait and hear what some suggestions might be. thanks for your time. i apologize for posting in someonelse's post but was not aware it was a NO NO. i figured since we had the exact same problem that i would save someone some time and just follow the advice given to them. thanks for your time.

You cannot save anyone time by following instructions that are intended for someone else; although their problem may on the surface appear to be the same, it may be entirely different, there may be additional infections involved, the operating system may be different, etc.
