A few minutes ago, I got hit with a virus on my main computer. I'm typing this on my secondary computer, because I can't do anything on the computer that is infected. Here are the symptoms:

Every time I try to open a program, I get a "Security Error" warning telling me the "Application cnanot be executed. The file ****.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?"

When I click on ANY browser, it gives me an "Internet Explorer Warning" and tells me that my computer is infected and that I need to purchase antivirus software. It denies me internet access. Once in awhile, porn sites will come up.

I get "Spyware" alerts asking me to purchase software.

There's an obviously bogus "Antivirus Scan" going on in the background of my computer. The program's color scheme is mainly blue and white.

I have an icon on my task bar for a program I did not install.

I can't open the task manager because it says the file is infected. I see the task manager appear for a split second, then it disappears.

I have other associated notifications telling me that there is a "Windows Security Alert", but the message is obviously fake, too.

There is an "Infiltration Alert" that tells me "Your computer is being attacked by an internet virus. It could be a password-stealing attack, a trojan - dropper of similar."

Like I said, I can't open any programs or even access the Internet on that machine...

What do I do? (HELP!)

OK, I think this thing is called Antivirus System Pro. Any ideas on how to manually delete this thing? Thanks.

Well, now I'm not sure. It doesn't look exactly the same.

By posting just a description of your problems it is likely that your topic will be passed by and you will not receive the help you're looking for.
We need to know what's running on your computer so that we can provide the appropriate instructions.

May I draw your attention to THIS topic, which you should have read, that states what we need you to post, so we can help you.

Additionally, by adding on to your topic with your second and subsequent posts, it is highly unlikely that you would have received a response. Our helpers are looking for topics with zero responses. When you post replies to your own topic, it no longer has zero responses, and so it appears that you have received help when in fact, you have not.

If you still need help, please start a new thread an include:
  • A HijackThis log.
  • An Uninstall list.
  • Details of the problems you're experiencing.
If for any reason you can't run HijackThis, please let us know in your post.

This thread will now be closed.
