I suggest you do this:

Double-click My Computer.
Click the Tools menu, and then click Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Clear "Hide file extensions for known file types."
Under the "Hidden files" folder, select "Show hidden files and folders."
Clear "Hide protected operating system files."
Click Apply, and then click OK.

Please do not delete anything unless instructed to.

use ALT/CTRL/DEL
Select the process rundll32.exe and choose end (this is a legit process, but needs to get ended so you can delete the svchosts.dll). If rundll32.exe isn't present, just continue on.

Open C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchosts.dll <--- Be very careful with the spelling of this file

delete this folder if listed:
1024
I think it will be in C:\WINDOWS\system32

Open notepad and copy and paste next bold in it:
(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler]"{E802FFFF-8E58-4d2c-A435-8BEEFB10AB77}"=-

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{E802FFFF-8E58-4d2c-A435-8BEEFB10AB77}]

Save this as fix.reg Choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.

Doubleclick on it and when it asks you if you want to merge the contents to the registry, click yes/ok.

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cust ... yahoo.com/

O8 - Extra context menu item: Download with &Shareaza - res://C:\Program Files\Etomi\Plugins\RazaWebHook.dll/3000

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Open C:\Program Files\SpyAxe <--Delete Folder

Open C:\Windows\Prefetch\ Delete ALL files in this folder.

Do this also if these Temp Folders are part of your OS.

Also in safe mode navigate to the C:\Windows\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Next navigate to the C:\Documents and Settings\(EVERY LISTED PROFILE USER)\Local Settings\Temp folder. Open the Temp folder and go to Edit > Select All then Edit > Delete to delete the entire contents of the Temp folder.

Finally go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin

Reboot and "copy/paste" a new HijackThis log file into this thread.

Also please describe how your computer behaves at the moment.

home page of browser is redirected to "security center!!!!!" advising download of spyaxe.

We need to try this again Spyaxe is still there.

Open C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchosts.dll <--- Delete file: Be very careful with the spelling of this file

delete this folder if listed:
1024
I think it will be in C:\WINDOWS\system32

Open notepad and copy and paste next Quote in it:
(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

REGEDIT4

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\SharedTaskScheduler]"{E802FFFF-8E58-4d2c-A435-8BEEFB10AB77}"=-

[-HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{E802FFFF-8E58-4d2c-A435-8BEEFB10AB77}]

Save this as fix.reg Choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.

Doubleclick on it and when it asks you if you want to merge the contents to the registry, click yes/ok.

Run hijackthis. Hit None of the above, Click Do a System Scan Only. Put a Check in the box on the left side on these:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cust ... _side.html

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://uk.red.clientapps.yahoo.com/cust ... yahoo.com/

O2 - BHO: HomepageBHO - {3e9b951e-6f72-431b-82cf-4a9fbf2f53bc} - C:\WINNT\system32\hpD9C6.tmp

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SpyAxe] C:\Program Files\SpyAxe\spyaxe.exe /h

Close ALL windows and browsers except HijackThis and click "Fix checked"

Open C:\Program Files\SpyAxe <--Delete Folder.

Open C:\WINNT\system32\hpD9C6.tmp <--Delete File

Open HijackThis

Click on Open Misc Tools
Click on Delete a File On Reboot
Click once on the file below to select it:

I have completed the above , but it is still there in IE6 browser, yahoo browser clear.

After re-boot, when off line IE display was not as expected, (the display was blank) also tools-internet options was unaccessable.

After going on line - the IE browser is again re-directed to the 'security alert' site and the browser display has returned to 'normal' - hence pop ups etc are re-appearing.
