Help! Virus that I cannot get rid of - 'Gala Search'

Hi, hoping someone can help. I've been trying to keep a virus off my sister's computer for the last week. Sometimes it causes the computer to stop working all together, sometimes just the internet. Google searches default to 'Gala search' and any link opened defaults to fake anti-virus pages. I thought the virus was 'CleanUp Antivirus' but I'm not sure. I've ran every virus removal program, including Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware but no luck. Malwarebyte's at least registers the virus, but doesn't seem to delete it. Can anyone advise?

Thanks
