Unable to Run Gooredfix to remove google redirect

Unread postby mbarrett03 » December 7th, 2010, 1:07 pm

Hi,

I have a google redirect trojan, whereby ~20% of my google search result links bring me to unrelated websites. I've tried running GooredFix.exe and but am getting the following error.

"You must be an Administrator to use GooredFix".

I am not logging in at the Administrator user, but I am a member of the local administrators group. Running Windows XP SP3 with Firefox 3.6.12. I ran a Malwarebytes scan which didn't detect anything, neither did TDSskiller. Output from Hijack this didn't show anything damaging either. My definitions are up to date. Also have Norton AV installed which isn't finding any issues.

I had hoped GooredFix would solve my problem, but I am getting the above message and can't find any posts with similar issues.

Any help would be appreciated.

Matt
