Newbie needs some help

Hi,
First of all, I am a complete newbie, so please excuse me if I ask questions in the wrong forum.
If yes, all my excuses ! In that case, please be kind enough to direct me to the right place where I can ask my questions.

Situation
My computer is a dell laptop with Windows XP with 2 cores.
Since a few days, it has started to run systematically a svchost process at startup that uses always 50% of the CPU.
I kill it with the task manager but it keeps coming back from time to time.

I have avast anti virus installed. I did a full system scan but it said no threads.
I used CC Cleaner but nothing better.

A friend of mine told my I should try HijackThis and well... here I am.

I downloaded HijackThis, I did a scan and an analysis and I got this log file !

Uninstall List

• Open HijackThis.
• Look under System tools.
• Click on the Open Uninstall Manager... button.
• Click on the Save list... button.
• It will prompt you to save. Save this log in a convenient location. By default it's named uninstall_list.txt.
• Notepad will open. Please copy and paste the contents of this log in your next reply.
