Re-Directs ARRRG!

Unread postby mOsh » November 17th, 2010, 2:00 pm

Ok, so... I have been having this problem for a while. Started after a friend used my computer for a bit, where they were surfing nobody knows.

I have Norton Anti Virus installed on my computer... :? lot o good that did.

I always am re-directed to http://results.google-analytics.com/ or http://www.epoclick.com/?ad=1288413582 among a few other random pop ups that appear out of the bottom right corner of the screen. Also, websites that I know exist are coming up with the "server not found" web page. I will have to reload the page a few times to actually get where I'm going.

I am also having a new problem when I go to install Search&Destroy or AGV. They can not install due to the fact that they can not find my internet connection. But, I am clearly connected to the internet.

I can't thank you enough for your help! This forum is amazing...

Hello mOsh and Welcome to Malware Removal! :)
My name is Gizzy and I'll be glad to help you with your malware problems.

Please note the following while we work:
  • The fixes are specific to your problem and should only be used for this issue on this computer.
  • Perform all actions in the order given.
  • If you don't know or understand something stop and ask! Don't keep going on.
  • Please DO NOT uninstall/install any programs unless asked to. It is more difficult when files/programs appear or disappear from the logs.
  • Please DO NOT run any tools or scans unless I ask you to.
  • It is important that you reply to this thread. Do not start a new topic.
  • Your security programs may give warnings for some of the tools I will ask you to use, Be assured, any links I give are safe.
  • The process is not instant, Please continue to respond to this thread until I give you the All Clean!. Absence of symptoms does not mean that everything is clear.

Note: As I am still in training, All of my posts must first be checked by an Expert/Teacher, So some delays may be inevitable, please be patient and I will reply again asap.

Hi Gizzy,
Glad that you are ready to help. I have had a heck of a time with my computer.
As for your question. I own a small 1300 sq foot art supply in Tempe AZ with my family ( Wet Paint Artist Supply ). I am here about 50 to 60 hours a week. So, I have a personal computer at work ( the one that is infected ) and a work computer that is strictly for ring ups and customer care. They both have a point of sale program on them and are networked. The only business activity that takes place on this computer is the occasional web order for supplies.

Poor artists and friends also use this computer ... a lot.

Hi mOsh,

I am sorry to inform you that I will not be able to help you as the forum rules do not allow us to work on any kind of business-related computers.

This computer is occasionally used as a business computer and networked to a business computer as well. As such, it may very likely have been connected to the network while infected, therefore, presenting a risk to other computers connected to that same network.

The section Computers connected to any kind of business network explains why we do not offer help for such computers.
Any topic where we believe the computer is one that is used in a business environment will be closed, irrespective of whether that business is a large company or a small one man enterprise.

This topic will be closed. I am sorry I could not have been of further assistance.
