Getting Desperate

Unread postby ScottsLamePCnd » October 1st, 2010, 10:00 pm

Long story short... I can't do the anything on the internet that requires me to download. Can't downloand anti-virus, legitimate programs, firefox... nothing. What have I tried? Everything I think.

I've completely wiped the hard drive, deleted all other partitions, and reinstalled operating system... twice. Still, my computer is helpless. Same problems. I got a McAfee anti-virus disk from another computer i bought a few months back that came with it and installed that from disk. Ran it, no viruses detected. I don't know what to do now.

Examples of what happens when I try to download something from internet... "this file is corrupt", "unknown publisher", "no valid security signature", "Error blah blah blah, try this" it is always something or another. Some excuse as to why it won't download. Internet doesn't work half the time, always some error on page, pages open up being completely text, lots of little red x's, all kinds of crap. Cursor on screen jumps around all over the place when I'm not touching touch pad thingy. Again, all this after I have completely wiped the harddrive clean and reinstalled the OS twice.

I've searched and searched these types of forums looking for anwers and tried things with no fix. I need help. Also, I'm not very computer literate so if anybody out there has any help for me, please try not to use abbreviations or fancy terms. LOL.

I've really got no need to keep this harddrive if it needs to be tossed.
Thanks
Scott
