Vista locks up when connecting to internet

This system locks up about 10 seconds after the network connection is made, ie. the cable is connected to the computer. Even when nothing else is running, no browser, nothing. And it happens no matter what type of connection is made: using the internal nic, wireless, or a USB nic. However, everything runs fine in safe mode. This smacks of malware doing something when the internet is started. I ran a Malwarebyte Anti-Malware scan and didn't find anything but it would be great if someone would looks at this HijackThis log and see of there are any problems. HJT was run in safe mode.

I see from your HJT log that you're using a 64 bit operating system.

Unfortunately, the tools we use to analyze and remove infections do not work properly on a 64 bit operating system, and their results cannot be relied upon. Because of this, it is almost impossible for us to correctly diagnose problems, and the fixes we might offer could potentially do as much damage to your computer as any infection you might have.

Due to the above stated reasons, we do not at this time offer support for 64 bit operating systems. We are sorry that we are currently unable to assist you.
