How do I remove Alureon.H?

Unread postby Midget_Ninja » June 28th, 2010, 8:17 pm

Hi, I have a computer that has been infected with Alureon.H. Windows Live One Care just made us aware of it yesterday after its weekly virus scan. I've been reading forums that said the only way to get rid of it is to reinstall my system's OS, but some of them also say that doing that might not fix the problem. What should I do? And how did we get this virus?

Also, can this virus steal financial and personal information? I know of some of the things it does, like redirecting searches and messing with IP address, but should I be concerned about having any of my information stolen?

Thanks for your help!
