DESCRIPTION
-----------
A few days ago my netbook started playing audio adds and at other times it has pop up windows with messages such as someone in my area wants to meet me or has played a game that I should play to compare scores. I would paste the text of the ads verbatim, but sometimes a day will pass between such pop-ups. Sometimes I get "Out of Memory" pop-ups from Internet Explorer. And, yes, IEXPLORE.EXE process is always running and consuming up to 50%-60% of the CPU. If killed, it will it reappear in a few seconds. The net book runs Window XP Home Edition. It has always had Symantec Anti-Virus installed and running, but it now how various other programs that I have installed in my attempt to solve this: Ad-Aware, Avast, Avira, FCleaner, IOrbit 360, Prevx.

congueroSF,
You have a lot of programs starting up for a netbook.
The machine still has Internet Explorer 6. Don't use it right now unless it's absolutely necessary.
Please use Firefox for these transactions.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Remove Programs Using Control Panel
From Start, Settings, Control Panel or Start, Control Panel, click Add/Remove Programs.
Highlight each Entry, as follows, one by one, if it exists, and choose Remove :
Ad-Aware
avast! Free Antivirus
Avira AntiVir Personal - Free Antivirus
IObit Security 360
J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0
Java(TM) 6 Update 13
Java(TM) 6 Update 17
Prevx

Take extra care in answering questions posed by any Uninstaller.
----------------------------------------------
Run Temp File Cleaner
Download Temp File Cleaner and save it to your desktop.
Double click to run it. (Right click and Run as Administrator in Vista)
If it asks to Reboot, choose to do so. This will remove files that could not be removed while Windows was running.
After Restart, log back in to your usual account.
-----------------------------------------------
Run the RSIT Scanner
Please download the scanner from here and save it to your desktop. The icon will be named RSIT.exe
Doubleclick the RSIT icon.
When the scan is complete, two text files will open
log.txt <- this one will be maximized
info.txt <- this one will be minimized
( Both files will be saved here -> C:\rsit\ )
Copy/Paste the contents of both log.txt and info.txt into your next post please. Use two posts if you prefer.

Due to Lack of Response this topic is now closed.

If you still require help, please open a new thread in the Infected? Virus, malware, adware, ransomware, oh my! forum, include a fresh FRST log, and wait for a new helper.
