ok.. this started with an infection on one of my webites-- several files had been modified with inserted code to run scripts, and the "gifimg.php" file had been inserted in my image directories...

after about three rounds of deleting the gifimg file and replacing the html/php/tpl files that had been modifed, that seems to have been fixed... it's been over 72 hrs now without reinfection.

so that led me to my own computer to see if my site had been infected through my own PC.

first, i tried to do some online scans but found my browser (both IE and Firefox) were blocked from connecting to either Symantec or McAfee.

I was able to connect to TrendMicro and ran their Housecall scan-- got some hits and fixed them.

I ran Adaware and Spybot both, and got some hits and fixed them.

rescanned all and came up clean.

However, I still cannot connect to Symantec or McAfee, nor can i get MalwareBytes to run, so there is still a problem.

ok... that was my first post... the moderator had me remove spybot and adaware, run rkill, and i was supposed to install malwarebytes-- however malware bytes will not run on my pc, and my post timed out while working with support at MB trying to get malware bytes running.

I was told to repost and provide a new HJT log--- here is the new log.
