The error message that keeps coming up is this:
explorer.exe - Bad Image
The application or DLL C:\Windows\system32\ODBCINST.DLL is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation diskette.
When that error comes up (when loading Windows), all functions in explorer freeze, and when clicking OK, explorer resets itself and goes into a cycle of this every few seconds. I have tried copying that DLL from another computer and overwriting the one in this one, but that has no luck. I have tried a system restore with no luck. I am unable to get into Safe Mode. I tried reinstalling the MDAC from Microsoft's site, but it says the components are installed already and i cannot reinstall. I tried to delete the DLL in question, but i cannot stay in explorer long enough to try and get to it within the system32 folder. I am running out of ideas, except for reinstalling Windows XP Pro.
When the error comes up, however, I am able to run Firefox and other programs, just nothing that has to do with explorer it seems.
