Win32 Malware-gen; Avast errors out

I am looking for help on how to safely remove this virus from my computer. I have Avast and it brings up the trojan and I have tried to send it to the virus chest but Avast then says that RPC communication failed and the virus chest cannot be opened. I have repeatedly ran the virus program with the same results. I do have the virus name that has been associated with the problem: Win32:Malware-gen. I ran a Malwarebytes scan but have left everything as is. I don't want to screw anything up so no other steps have been taken. I have copied the hijackthis log below.
