Security Alert Virus on Laptop

Sounds more like some setting issue. Check the Lan settings, from Internet Explorer click on tools, then select internet options. Click on the connections tab then lan settings.
Make sure all three options are unchecked then click ok.

Let me know if they were or were not checked and if it helped.

Hi, I checked and the first one (automatically detect settings) had a check mark in it. I removed the check mark.

Thank you again, and again, and again. The laptop runs much faster now. It's great!
