When I do a Ctrl-Alt-Del I get the following message window:
In border of window "GoogleUpdagter.exe - Bad Image"
with something to the effect of c:\windows\system32\helper32.dll not a valid Microsoft Image...."
I cannot logon, so cannot use any "windows" solutions. I can boot up off of a recovery CD and get to a C: or D: prompt.
I searched the web and tried the following, with no solution:
Copied Userinit.exe to \Windows\System32\winlogon.exe
Copied Userinit.exe to \Windows\System32\winlogon32.exe
Copied Userinit.exe to \Windows\System32\wsaupdater.exe
Copied Userinit.exe to \Windows\System32\helper32.dll
I know there is something that can be done to get me logged in, I just haven't found the right combination.
When I select the User logon icon, what would cause it to immediately return back to the logon screen?
ANy help would be appreciated.
thanks,
Stan
