A couple of weeks ago I had what appeared to be a mbr infection masquerading as virus protection that I did not download or install. With the help of another online site, I was able to remove this infection and reset the mbr. Or so I thought. I am now being redirected to other sites when clicking on search results from reputable sites such as Google. Some cursory research appears to point to the original mbr infection.
