Removal of Malware Doctor and Re-direct from google

Unread postby bendigo » January 7th, 2010, 9:17 am

Hi,

My brother's operating system is Windows XP protected by McAfee.
However the computer has now been infected by a Malware Doctor resulting in a pop up screen saying "scanning files" and this pop up can't be removed. Since this infection appeared all attempts to connect to the internet have failed with a new message saying "google re-direct".
I have tried to use McAfee to remove this programme without success and am unable to reboot system to factory settings.
I would try and download the Hijack tools but am not sure how to do this as I can't access the internet on the infected computer.

thanks

By posting just a description of your problems it is likely that your topic will be passed by and you will not receive the help you're looking for.

We need to know what's running on your computer so that we can give you appropriate instructions.

May I draw your attention to THIS topic, which you should have read, and which tells you what we need you to post so that we can help you.

This thread will now be closed.

If you still need help, please start a new thread with:-
  • A HijackThis log.
  • An Uninstall list.
  • Details of the problems you're experiencing.

If for any reason you can't run HijackThis, please let us know in your post.
